Peatland Action documentary – Restoring Scotland’s Peatlands

By - Richard - 3rd May 2023

After a formal tender process, Swift Films was commissioned to produce a documentary for Nature Scot about why we need to restore peatlands across Scotland.

Peatlands, in good health are valuable carbon stores and have many benefits for people and nature. Degraded peatlands however are responsible for more than 20% of Scotland’s total carbon emissions. This documentary was produced to highlight the importance of restoring peatlands at a time when we face climate emergency.

Filmed at three locations across Scotland, we hear from land management estates, their agents and contractors about their experience of Peatland action, and the benefits they’ve seen on the land.

Filmed during the winter months of 2023, the documentary was a genuine pleasure to work on – highlighting a cause which is close to our hearts.
